Ken Young

Our next meeting will be held on Saturday,  19 August 2017 at 1.30pm at the Meadowbank Community Centre, 29 St Johns Road, Meadowbank.

We are delighted to have Ken Young as our guest speaker this month.

Please come along on Saturday 19 August to hear Ken Young talk about his trip to the Chatham Islands.  He will also give a presentation on screen.

The Chatham Islands are an isolated part of NZ, located in the South Pacific ocean, about 1000 kms east of Christchurch.  By area, they are the 4th largest island in NZ, behind North, South and Stewart Islands.  Today, only 600 people live on the Chathams which remain undeveloped by NZ standards.  Visitors can still “experience NZ the way it used to be”.

Ken and May Young spent a week in the Chatham Islands.  They will describe their experience in the Chathams with respect to the nature, history and heritage of this region.

Bring along family and friends to hear this interesting talk.  Men are also welcome to come along for a fun and social afternoon.

New members are always welcome.  If you are not already a member, you can sign up on the day.

Afternoon tea will be served before the guest speakers talk.

Registration costs:   NZCA members  $2.00    Non members  $3.00
